95th Rifles - About Our Society

Our Society consists of people from all walks of life; male and female, young and old alike, coming together to share a passion for recreating a part of our military heritage.  We enjoy and take pride in what we do, entertaining and enlightening members of the public to this period in history, through our shows and events.  We are a family orientated unit with partners and children welcomed.

We annually take part in events such as battle re-enactments, training and drill, parades and proms, generally between March and October.  As a "living history" society we usually set up a period encampment consisting of period canvas tents, equipment, cooking methods and utensils that assist us in 'living' and depicting the way of life!

The 95th Rifles Living History Society was founded in 1975 and has developed steadily into one of the finest and well-respected, Napoleonic re-enactment groups.  We are, however, not limited to one regiment.
Our Society is composed of 3 brother regiments that are an integral part of its structure;
The
95th Rifles,
The redcoat
44th East Essex Regiment of Foot and
The French
62eme Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne.

As a long time, proud member of the Napoleonic Association; representing the

1st Battalion, 95th (Rifle) Regiment of Foot; we take part in events and shows across the UK and Europe.
