HarperCollins Honours Bernard Cornwell - December 2006

Post by Official Post »

On 13 December, representatives of the 3 Napoleonic Association 95th Rifles Battalions joined in the celebrations at the HarperCollins Publishers offices to honour Bernard Cornwell's 25 years as a fiction writer par excellence and the imminent award of his well-deserved OBE in recognition of his services to literature.

Bernard gave an interesting and amusing speech thanking all of the people that have assisted him over these years, with special thanks to his wife, Judy.

Jason Salkey, Private Harris, was also present and, of course, had a word or two with us all!

The 95th Rifles performed a General Salute to Bernard followed by a rousing 3 cheers in the traditional 95th Rifles' manner.
